John Walton - Head Chef
John has been Head Chef at Number 6 since June 2008 and played a big part in shaping the new menu. Growing up in Padstow, John started his career with Rick Stein at The Seafood Restaurant before moving to London and working at Petrus for three years where he first met Paul.
Having recommended Paul visit his hometown, John went back to Padstow before being reunited with Paul at Number 6 and working his way up to Head Chef, where he passes on his knowledge and experience to those below him.
Paul says: "John's like a brother to me who I've seen grow both in stature and skill over the years we've known each other. John's a massive talent and was deservedly awarded South West Chef of the Year 2009 judged by Michael Caines MBE."
